The Thomas Devlin Fund Bursary Scheme, closing 18 April 2014

The Thomas Devlin Fund provides a bursary scheme which offers gifted young people a chance to undertake exciting and unique opportunities that will develop their skills and talent in music and the arts.

Over the last eight years the bursaries have assisted over 40 young people in a range of diverse activities from supporting a local dancer hoping to work with the Birmingham Royal Ballet, funding living costs in London so a recipient could take part in a summer National Youth Theatre Production to attending a 2-week residential cello course in Minnesota.

In 2014, the Fund will offer grants of up to £1,750 to young people aged 15-19 who would like to pursue a career or study in the performing arts. The bursaries aim to fund specific opportunities and activities above and beyond the ordinary, that will stimulate, encourage and inspire the young beneficiaries to succeed in their particular field.

Applicants should demonstrate:

  • Need for financial assistance
  • Prospect for development of their potential
  • How the award will make a difference to the individual and to others in their community.

Application forms can be downloaded by clicking here, and should be completed by the student and their teacher/tutor.
